Hi friends, new and old!
Hi friends, new and old!
Hi friends, new and old!
Hey Guys!
Exciting news, I will be showing at Spokane's newest gallery, Studio 66 for December's First Friday. Check out the artwork of Edward Gilmore, Rick Davis, Ammo-Head Design and myself!
Come in and see the progress on the all new Studio 66 Art Gallery, 104 S Division, Spokane, WA 99202 , Spokane, WA. It is so new that the signage isn't up yet, just pull in the lot immediately south of the railroad trusses on Division and Sprague.
Note: I am always wanting to know people's opinions for must see First Friday stops, so once you are out perusing the arts of Spokane, I'd like to recommend some of my favorites. The incredibly talented and all around awesome Bill Werle will be showing at Nodland Cellars. Josh at Nectar Tasting Room never disappoints and this month he will be showcasing the works of Brendan Genther. And of course you can't do First Friday without a stop at Barrister, where you will find more incredible Edward Gilmore pieces.
Hope to see you all out on the town tomorrow!

Hello Friends!
Another cold and blustery day in the Pacific Northwest. I for one LOVE the winter! Love love love love love! I know... some of you are giving me dirty looks through your computer as we speak. I am used to getting all that gruff from you nay sayers. But, I am at home in the Northwest and I wouldn't trade it for a minute!
So today, as the last of the leaves fall from the trees, as the sky has lost all color and retreated into its winter grey, as the last of my plants shrivel up their toes in my garden............ I give you a peek through my window.
"The Last Hour" is 41.5 x 20.5 inches with three 8 x 10 inch canvases inside.
It may be hard to see what I've got going on here. I sanded down an old frame......... which by the way was awkward, cause I could smell the old lady who used to own it when I did! And then I stained it and sanded it several times over. I laid it on the ground and beat it with a chain and a hammer to get it good and abused. Then I attached some mesh window screening to the back which is what holds the canvas in place. You can see the color of the wall showing through, so if say... you have a lime green wall... then the painting would look slightly different at your house.
Item available at my Etsy Store
Have a fantastic day!

Artist Lena Levin posted a call for entries for a Picasso Challenge due today.
Picasso could not be farther from my usual scope of painting so this piece was rather challenging for my brain. Time and time again I sat seeking logic in my strokes. I struggled... I won't lie. And then............. somewhere in the middle of the night and courtesy of some killer tunes, I found my grove. I gave in to the nonsense of it all. I embraced a long lost part of myself that used to be able to doodle........ I can't even think of the last time I doodled, but this piece very much reminds me of the days when I would sit down with a piece of paper and let my pen take over and do whatever illogical thing it pleased.
And with that...... my homage to the great Pablo Picasso "All Kinds" A family portrait.
“The world today doesn't make sense, so why should I paint pictures that do?”
"All Kinds" Acrylic on 24x8 canvas
I posted this to the challenge earlier this morning and I had to share my fav comment because it makes me laugh. "I think it's great! It has this scary, crazy, over the top happy thing going on, It takes me back to the old Ren & Stimpy cartoons (just my opinion)." Matt Hamblen (Who fyi has incredible art on his Etsy shop)
Hey guys!
Just a quicky post to show you the masks that I created for Red Shoe!
If you are local, I hope you are attending this super awesome event where proceeds go to art students! The event is this Friday and tickets are $10 less if you buy them ahead of time. I hope to see you there!

T'was Grace that taught...
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear...
the hour I first believed.
"Grace" 2011 Acrylics on Canvas
This painting is dedicated to my grandmother, Grace, who taught me more things than I could possibly list, but the greatest of those is Faith.
Have a fantastic week!
